How long have you been dreaming for something bigger? And how long have you let that dream fall by the wayside of your immediate situation? We’re all brought up on the idea that our dreams can and will come true, but how? When?
There are many reasons we invent to avoid ‘going for it’. To make sure you’ve got the right idea, we’ve compiled a sure-fire list to follow to ensure your dreams never see the light of day.
1 . ACT LIKE A MILLIONAIRE EVERY WEEKEND
Weekends are usually the only time of the week when you get any real free time. Use this opportunity to hit the town with your fellow big dreaming friends and throw money at barmen in the hope that you will look successful to others in the bar. Spend all of Sunday in bed feeling sorry for yourself and then roll back into your day job on Monday.
2 . FIND A BORING, EASY JOB AND SETTLE
Find the most unchallenging job out there and settle into it for the long haul. Avoid making any kind of effort to improve your intellectual or financial worth and try to stay under the radar. If your boss doesn’t know your name that’s a great start, if they’ve completely forgotten that you work there, you’re a master.
3 . PROUDLY CREATE A LIST OF ARGUABLE EXCUSES
You never know when someone might ask you why you haven’t pursued your dreams. Always be prepared with an endless list of excuses, which you have laid awake at night thinking about. Shut them down at a moments notice and walk away. Trust me, they’ll never ask you again.
4 . PROCRASTINATE LIKE A PRO!
Use any free time to watch endless FailArmy videos, trawl your Facebook news feed, catch up on the latest Aussie Man Reviews and plan your next group holiday to a disgraceful party island. Anything to keep you away from working on your idea.
5 . COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN
Unhappy with something? Complain about it relentlessly and offer no solution to the problem. Being negative about everything will help fend off helpful people who may want to offer useful advice. That’s another thing – reject any and all advice. Be as stubborn as possible when it comes to learning new things.
We hope you found this article entertaining; after all we’ve all been guilty of one or more of these in the past.
